A tow bar is quite possible on an electric car, but the car must be technically suitable for it. This involves three things:
Whether your used electric car is suitable can always be checked with the RDW. The vehicle data will tell you exactly what maximum towing weight is allowed. Is nothing mentioned? Then officially the car is not allowed to tow anything.
No tow weight registered with the RDW? No worries: you can always opt for an RMC tow bar. This is a hook especially for a bike carrier or a towbar box. Please note: this is not a towing weight, but only a nose weight. This is often around 50 kg. Perfect for bicycles or an extra suitcase, but not for a caravan.
