The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most commonly offered model on the used car market. You can find it in three variants: Standard Range Plus (RWD), Long Range (AWD) and Performance. The first generation (2018-2020) already offers plenty of driving pleasure and technology, while the models from 2021 are often just a bit more fuel-efficient and refined, with improved finishes and additional gadgets. The Long Range reaches 420-500 kilometers in practice, while the Standard Range sits around 320-380 kilometers.
In addition to the Model 3, the Model Y, Model S and Model X are also regularly available. The Model Y is roomier and taller, ideal for families. The Model S is the large, luxury sedan with impressive performance and plenty of interior space, and the Model X is the SUV variant with optional wing doors and seven seats.
Tesla's are generously equipped as standard, including a panoramic roof, leather upholstery, premium audio, seat heating and a comprehensive infotainment system with over-the-air updates. What you see is often the "Standard Range Plus" or "Long Range Dual Motor," but also pay attention to packages like Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self Driving, which make quite a difference in price and functionality.
Charging technology is also spot on: all models can charge up to 11 kW AC (3-phase) and fast charging via Tesla's own Supercharger network (up to 250 kW, depending on the model).
Tow hooks are possible on all Tesla cars, but tow weights vary widely. The Model 3 can tow up to 1,000 kilograms when the car is adapted for this purpose, the Model Y even up to 1,600 kilograms, with the Model S and X it depends very much on the version.
Tesla is known for its long-term reliability. We have regularly seen Model 3s and other models with mileage well above 200,000 in excellent condition. Battery quality is remarkably good: at 180,000 kilometers, the State of Health is usually still around 85%, making Tesla's among the most reliable EVs on the market.
With the Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+), pay attention to the battery type: as of 2021, it has an LFP battery with slightly more capacity. You can also recharge it to 100% without worry, and its efficiency puts its range surprisingly close to an older Long Range. In addition, starting with the 2021 model year, the build quality has also improved considerably, with better workmanship, sound insulation and driving comfort.
At Eccasion, we always check battery health with an Aviloo test, as well as full charge specifications and service history. That way you know exactly what you're buying, even if the Tesla has already racked up quite a few miles.
