The Polestar 2 entered the market in 2020 as the first all-electric model from Volvo's sister brand. It is available in several versions: with a standard 64 kWh battery pack or a larger 78 kWh battery pack, in combination with rear-wheel/front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (dual motor). The version with large battery pack and all-wheel drive gets about 400-440 kilometers in practice, depending on your driving style.
The Polestar 2 stands out for its minimalist Scandinavian design, solid build quality and high safety standards. The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive, which ensures smooth operation and seamless integration of Google services. The car is often richly equipped with options such as Harman Kardon audio, panoramic roof and adaptive cruise control. These options are divided into 2 packages, the Pilot package (for the adaptive cruise control, among others) and the Plus package (for the panoramic roof, among others).
The Polestar 2 combines sleek design with serious driving comfort and good performance. Certainly the Long Range version with dual engine offers a lot of power, but consumes a bit more power as a result. A major plus point is the build quality, which is above average in this segment, even as a used car.
Polestar made software updates in the first years of production to improve range, charging speed and stability. Battery degradation is very good, our experience is that a Polestar 2 78kwh car at 200,000 kilometers still has a SoH of 89%.
Looking for a stylish, mature EV with premium trim and powerful driving characteristics? Then the Polestar 2 is an excellent choice.
