The Volkswagen ID.4 has been on the market since late 2020 and was introduced after the ID.3 as a spacious, all-electric SUV. Both models were developed on the MEB platform designed specifically for EVs. The ID.4 is available with two battery packs: a smaller one of 52 kWh (net), good for a realistic range of about 300 kilometers, and a larger one of 77 kWh, which allows you to reach 350-400 kilometers, depending on your driving style.
There are variants with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (such as the sporty GTX). The ID.4 is known for its quiet and comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and intuitive operation via the central touchscreen. In terms of equipment, options such as seat heating, heat pump and panoramic roof are common.
As a used car, the ID.4 remains a practical, comfortable family car with a relaxing quiet driving experience. Early models - such as the 2021 First Edition - sometimes suffered from minor software and sensor glitches. In the cars we buy, these teething problems have been fixed through dealer maintenance, which we can check in the service history. That way you can be sure you're getting a reliable ID.4. Battery degradation is very good, so our experience is that a car with 120,000 kilometers still has a SoH of about 93%.
With its good build quality, quiet powertrain and decent range, the ID.4 is a solid choice. Especially if you are looking for an electric SUV that is both practical and quiet on the road.
